When I signed up for Kink Bingo last year, I'd only been reading and writing fanfiction for about six months. The possibilities felt endless. I had so many fandoms to learn to write in, so many genres to try, so many kinks to explore. I wanted to get a bingo—no, an x-pattern—no, a blackout—okay, maybe just a bingo to start. And maybe a postage stamp? Come on, the squares for torture/interrogation, wrist/ankle restraints, guns/blades, and bloodplay were right next to each other. (So were the squares for gender play, body alteration, crossdressing, and pegging/strap-ons. It was a pretty sweet card.) “I feel like a kid in a candy store,” I told a friend I'd met in the public kink scene years earlier. “Wow,” my friend said, sounding excited for me. “You've never been a kid in a candy store before.”
